Loved my stay here. Nice location. Only downside was that I thought that my reservation was paid for in full. I was charged $10.00 per day to park my car!!! In room wi fi was an additional cost though free in lobby. Guest office was also a charge that I have never had to pay for. All in all I would go back again. Staff from general manager Dave to the Driftwood Bar and Grill to the Valet drivers could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Concierge person (Nagel) was great at helping you plan events that we wanted to attend. Can't wait to go back

For a lot of travelers coming to Hawai'i means staying at a hotel with all of the trimmings. If this is your cup of tea the Kauai Beach Resort does a good job for a surprisingly reasonable price. The rooms are spacious, all with lanais, and we liked our view even though we were not facing the ocean. There are several interconnected pools in a beautifully landscaped central area, with a waterfall, hot tub, water slide, and an artificial wading beach for toddlers. (Be advised that, although the actual ocean is within walking distance, the real beach is rocky and inhospitable to bathers.) On site there are several dining options (the breakfast buffet is great), one of them being a bar and grill with live music, and many shops. A dinner theatre production of "South Pacific" was being offered every Wednesday when we were there. I booked a two-night stay sight unseen but would stay here again. Minor drawbacks: room walls and doors are thin, making noisy neighbors annoying; internet service is spotty at best.

Stayed at The Kauai Beach Resort for six days and loved it.  Upon arrival we were upgraded to an ocean/pool view room.  The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about things to do and see while visiting Kauai.  Loved the buffet breakfast (Yay, french toast!), the live entertainment at Shutters Lounge, and the grilled panini sandwiches and local beer options at The Driftwood Bar.  Clean, comfortable hotel with good food, amazing views, friendly staff, and live musical performances nightly.  Great place to stay!!

Our two-day family stay was an excellent value. This is a great place to relax on Kauai's East Shore due to its proximity to both Kapa'a and Lihue. We first stayed at this location 15 years ago. And it has eclipsed the 'old Radisson days' in a big way. The Kauai Beach Resort's grounds are gorgeous, the spacious layout is grand without pretentions, food choices were varied, and the service from front desk to poolside was excellent in every way. We enjoyed the outdoor areas so much that we extended our checkout by half a day. The kids loved the slide in the separate pool nearest the beach. Correspondingly, we parents loved the food and beverage service from the poolside cabana there with redone menus that now include a choice of salad or fresh fruit. (There is now a $3 fee for those who sub fries, which we jokingly deemed an 'obesity upcharge'.)  As well, we appreciated the option of having a choice between two spas with different temperature settings. These were quite pleasant between swimming pool plunges. And beach walks were organically easy from the KBR's oceanfront location.  The live lounge music was great in the evenings, and the menu was graciously adapted to our gluten-free needs. The superb local performer had enthusiastic audience participation. All in all, these were fun interludes from start to finish.  We would have appreciated some gluten-free items (pancakes, muffins, etc.) at the breakfast buffet as well as egg substtute dishes. But this is a personal matter (as we deal with both gluten and egg intolerances!). The nicely laid-out buffet is more than ample for typical diners. And it is also a sound value supplemented by table and beverage service. Sure there was wind at times -- as there often is on the east shore. And there were a few wild chickens whose numbers are now smaller than in the past. ( I sometimes use earplugs for sleeping on Kauai for this reason.) Still, both features are part of the island's charm.  We loved the valet parking and porter service. They made our stay a breeze, and we had planned to rely more upon them for excursions off-property. But we quickly got so comfortable that we never left as planned! So, Kauai Beach Resort, thank you for a good time. And an excellent value. This lovely place has morphed into a true destination resort at affordable prices. Room Tip: The standard rooms are excellent and well-appointed. Loved the room-darkening shutters.  No need for an eye mask. Stayed May 2013, traveled with family
